2018 Season Vegetable CSA Share (20 weeks) May 20 – Oct. 7
2018 Season Vegetable CSA Share
Join Ryan Family Farm’s CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) program for 2018.
What is it?
We are offering a box of fresh local vegetables every week for 20 weeks for a heavily discounted rate of $300. That works out to just $15 a week for fresh, locally grown, pesticide free veggies! Each box will be ample for at least two people. Of course the yield will depend on factors outside of our control such as weather, but we’ve planned enough plants to cover our planned 10 shares and then some!
For more information about the CSA model in general, see this write-up on the Local Harvest site.
When will it begin?
Our plan is to begin deliveries May 20 and end October 7. We will have drop offs that are convenient for our customers. So far, one site we know we will have this year is Verde Organic Body at Newcastle Commons. Other drop off sites will depend on who orders.
What’s in the box?
Crop plan for 2018 CSA (Community Supported Agriculture)
Below is a list of the crops planned for the 2018 growing season. The list only contains the plant type but there may be several varieties of that plant grown (lettuce for example). The list is not chronological and there are some crops that will be harvested multiple times throughout the season. All are grown using certified organic seed and following organic practices (we are not certified organic at this time). If you have any questions about the crops, how they’re grown, or how to use them, feel free to ask!
Arugula, Bean (green), Beets, Broccoli, Cabbage, Carrot, Cauliflower, Cucumber, Eggplant, Greens, Kale, Leeks, Lettuce, Mustard, Pea (snap and shell), Pepper (sweet and hot), Radish, Rutabaga, Spinach, Squash (summer and winter), Swiss Chard, Tomato (cherry, beefsteak, plum), Turnip
If it is a hardship to pay the full amount all at once, contact us and we can discuss payment options.
