Happy Holidays! Looking forward to 2018
Looking forward to 2018
We have been reflecting back on the year as it comes to a close. We had a successful Thanksgiving with our own turkeys, raised from day-old poults; grew our laying flock and have been producing quality eggs; and got our garden space built and grew our first crops despite the horribly wet spring we had. We also started work toward our longer term goals by improving the pastures, adding fencing, and planting bee and beneficial insect-friendly herbs and flowers. This week we got another seed catalog in the mail and have been making decisions about next years’ crops for our CSA. As I was flipping through it it reminded me of being a kid making my Christmas wish list after flipping through the Sears and JC Penny Catalogs. Then and now, looking at the photos, feeling anticipation as I wait to unwrap the package and get to work!
We both look forward to 2018 and all the promise a new year holds. We also look forward to building relationships and community through the farm and the food it provides. If you would like to stay up to date with our progress and what’s in season, sign up for our mailing list and we will send out occasional updates, recipes, and coupons you can use at the farmstore.
So, Happy Solstice (we’re late), Happy Hanukah (also late), Merry Christmas, Happy Kwanza, Happy Festivus – however you celebrate the season, we’re glad to share it with! you
